Vancouver Canucks forward Lukas Reichel has become a casualty of the additions after Friday's blockbuster trade.
The Canucks announced on Sunday that the forward was placed on waivers and designated non-roster waiver status.
Reichel was acquired by the Canucks on Oct. 25 from Chicago for a fourth-round selection. But the 23-year-old forward struggled to find his footing with the Canucks, recording just one assist in 14 games.
Over his career, the 2020 first-rounder has logged 22 goals and 37 assists in 188 games.
Vancouver needed to clear a spot on the 23-man roster after it acquired forwards Marco Rossi and Liam Ohgren along with defenceman Zeev Buium on Friday for Quinn Hughes.
In other waiver news, Penguins blue liner Matt Dumba cleared waivers and was assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the AHL.
The 31-year-old, who carries a $3.75-million average-annual value, registered a goal and two assists in 11 games with the Penguins.
